Voodoo Brewing St. Pete has quickly earned its place as one of downtown’s favorite spots for craft beer, great food, and community connection. Owned by Bob Skepnek, the brewpub blends elevated pub fare with a full bar, non-alcoholic options, and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.
This week marks two big milestones — Voodoo’s one-year anniversary and Bob’s birthday — a perfect time to celebrate how far this local gem has come.
The road to opening wasn’t smooth. After stepping into a stalled buildout in late 2023, Bob was ready to open when Hurricane Idalia and another storm hit back-to-back. With construction delays and mounting expenses, he turned to the Glazer Family Small Business Fund to bridge the gap.
💬 “New restaurants are very vulnerable… it helped to bridge the gap from not being open and operating to having money coming in.”
Even amid the challenges, Bob found steady support through the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce community.
💬 “I wanted to connect with the community, and I wasn’t expecting to meet such a supportive group of people.”
Now thriving, Voodoo Brewing continues to serve up community alongside every pint. With its Lunch Punch loyalty program, private venue space, and a welcoming environment that invites everyone in, Voodoo Brewing embodies the best of what makes St. Pete special — resilience, creativity, and connection.
So here’s to one year of Voodoo Brewing and another trip around the sun for Bob — cheers to local success, community strength, and great beer! 🍻
