Empowering Local Leaders: Highlights from May’s Business Education Network (BEN) Workshop

At The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson, we believe that empowering business leaders strengthens our entire community. That’s why we proudly host the Business Education Network (BEN) Workshop each month—an innovative platform for local entrepreneurs, professionals, and changemakers to collaborate, share knowledge, and grow together.

This month’s BEN Workshop, held at the newly hosted venue Holiday Inn St. Petersburg West, brought together a dynamic panel of speakers and participants to tackle today’s most pressing business challenges. With networking, learning, and purpose at the heart of the event, attendees walked away inspired and equipped with actionable strategies.

Meet Our Featured Speakers:

  • Bella Wood shared vital strategies in her session, “Fraud is on the Rise — Is Your Business Protected?”, helping businesses spot and prevent financial threats.

  • Harry Chippas, of Spectrum Business, inspired attendees with “Cross-Community Connections,” revealing how purpose-driven networking can build deeper partnerships.

  • Devon Francke from Keep Pinellas Beautiful highlighted how environmental partnerships can benefit both business and the community.

  • Michelle Bullard, Executive Director of NPI South Pinellas, closed with “Eye of the Tiger: Overcoming Obstacles in Your Business,” energizing everyone with insights on resilience and leadership.

We’re especially thankful to Adrian Robbins and the team at Holiday Inn St. Petersburg West for providing the perfect venue. Their beautiful space is also available for private event bookings.

The BEN Workshop is more than a networking event—it’s a monthly opportunity to build authentic connections and strengthen the local economy through education and empowerment.
