Joe originally hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he developed his early interest in law and public service. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Pennsylvania State University before attending Widener University’s Delaware Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate. He has been a licensed attorney since 2009, building a strong record of courtroom advocacy over the past decade and a half.
Joe began his career in Philadelphia as a criminal defense attorney, representing clients in serious criminal matters and in a variety of civil cases as well. His early work shaped him into a confident and capable trial attorney with a deep understanding of how to navigate complex legal issues. His courtroom experience, strategic thinking, and dedication to his clients quickly became defining strengths in his practice.
In 2023, Joe relocated to Florida and began working as an Assistant Public Defender in the 6th Judicial Circuit, serving at the Pinellas County Justice Center under Public Defender Sara Mollo. During his time there, Joe handled a broad caseload and continued to refine his advocacy skills while building his reputation in the local legal community. His work helped protect the rights of individuals facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and he carried forward the strong foundation he had established in Philadelphia.
In 2025, Joe joined The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson, bringing with him both his extensive trial background and a commitment to helping the firm grow and strengthen its services. Joe’s diverse skill set offers tremendous value to our clients. In addition to criminal defense, he brings experience in civil litigation, real estate investing, and corporate management. His range gives him the ability to approach legal problems from multiple angles and provide thoughtful, informed guidance to those he serves.
Joe’s admission to the Middle District of Florida expands the scope of cases he can now handle. Federal practice requires a high level of precision, preparation, and understanding of the unique procedures and standards of federal court. Joe’s dedication to ongoing professional development and his history as a strong courtroom advocate make him well-prepared for this next chapter.
Outside the office, Joe is just as dynamic. He is a father, a husband, and a championship-winning motorcycle racer. His passion for adventure is something he shares with his family, and together they are active participants in action sports and outdoor exploration. His energy, discipline, and drive extend far beyond his legal career and help shape the well-rounded perspective he brings to every case.
