The latest Business Education Network Workshop at the St. Pete Chamber was a tremendous success, bringing together a full house of local entrepreneurs, professionals, community leaders, and business owners for an afternoon focused on education, networking, collaboration, and professional growth.
Hosted by The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson, the Business Education Network Workshop, also known as BEN, continues to grow into one of St. Petersburg’s most engaging professional networking and educational events. Designed to create meaningful conversations and provide practical business insight, BEN combines intentional networking opportunities with focused educational presentations from experienced local professionals and leaders.
This month’s workshop featured four outstanding presenters who each brought a unique perspective and valuable expertise to the room.
Alexis Guilbeau spoke about financial planning, long-term business stability, and the importance of building real wealth beyond simply generating revenue. Her presentation focused on helping business owners better understand how to create sustainable financial strategies both personally and professionally while making smarter long-term decisions for growth and security.
Joseph Jackson, owner of Eat This Dessert First, shared insight into scaling both business and life while discussing the importance of identifying core products and services, understanding market opportunities, and creating intentional action steps for business expansion. His presentation encouraged attendees to think strategically about growth while also maintaining balance and clarity in the process.
Joe Pilliod, founder and CEO of GarrisonPro, delivered a powerful presentation titled “Scaling the In-Between: How to Create a Foundation for Growth.” Drawing from his background in telecommunications, cybersecurity, the U.S. Air Force, and the Department of Defense, Joe discussed the importance of repeatability, reliability, and recoverability when businesses begin transitioning from startup mode into sustainable growth. His presentation resonated strongly with entrepreneurs navigating the challenges that come with scaling a business without unlimited resources.
The Honorable Liz Jack brought a unique and impactful legal perspective to the workshop through her presentation, “The Business of Justice: How the Judicial System Impacts Entrepreneurs.” Judge Jack discussed why understanding the judicial system is important for business owners, how professionalism and preparation can impact legal outcomes, and the importance of legal awareness in protecting both businesses and reputations. Attendees appreciated her practical insight into how everyday business decisions can unexpectedly intersect with the legal system.
In addition to the educational presentations, attendees also participated in multiple networking opportunities throughout the event, allowing professionals from across St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area to connect, exchange ideas, build relationships, and explore future collaborations.
The continued growth and strong attendance at the Business Education Network Workshop reflects the local business community’s desire for authentic networking, practical education, and relationship-driven professional development. The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson remains committed to creating opportunities that bring business leaders together while supporting entrepreneurship, education, and community engagement throughout St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area.
The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended, supported, presented, and contributed to another incredible BEN Workshop experience.
The next Business Education Network Workshop will take place on Thursday, June 18, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the St. Pete Chamber.
We look forward to continuing to grow this community together and hope to see many familiar and new faces at the next workshop.
