Closing the Year With Purpose: 44 Pounds of Trash Removed at Our Final Beach Cleanup

Our final beach cleanup of the year was a meaningful reminder of what community looks like when people come together with a shared purpose. This month, volunteers helped remove 44 pounds of trash from Pass a Grille, bringing us one step closer to protecting the shoreline that so many of us love. Each cleanup is a small act with a big impact, and this final one felt especially significant as we reflected on the past year and the people who make these efforts possible.

Throughout the year, our monthly beach cleanups have been supported by dedicated volunteers who choose to give their time to help keep St. Pete beautiful. Some have joined us every month, while others have participated whenever they could. We are grateful for every person who has shown up, walked the sand with us, and helped collect debris that would otherwise harm our beaches and wildlife.

This month, we were honored to welcome our first client to the cleanup. Having clients join us in service is one of the most meaningful parts of these events. It shows that our relationship extends beyond legal representation. We are part of the same community, caring for the same shoreline, and working toward the same goal of a cleaner, healthier city. We hope to welcome many more clients, former clients, and their families to future cleanups. Everyone is welcome, and together we can make a lasting impact.

Beach cleanups allow us to do more than remove trash. They give us time to connect, to talk, and to share space outside of an office setting. They remind us why we love St. Pete and why protecting our environment matters. They also represent the values our firm stands for. Service, stewardship, and community involvement are at the heart of what we do. Representing our clients is important, but contributing to the wellbeing of our city is equally meaningful.

As we look ahead to the new year, we are excited to continue these monthly cleanups and to grow our group of volunteers. We hope to see new faces and familiar ones, including clients who want to give back and be part of something positive. These events offer an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Pass a Grille, meet other community members, and make a tangible difference. Whether you join us once or become a regular participant, your presence matters.

We close out this year with gratitude. Thank you to everyone who helped remove trash, supported our efforts, and encouraged others to participate. Thank you to those who came early, stayed late, carried heavy bags, and showed up even when the weather was questionable. And thank you to our first client participant for helping us take an important step toward growing community involvement. We cannot wait to welcome many more clients and friends in the months ahead.

Together, we have made an impact. Together, we will continue to protect the shoreline we all enjoy. We look forward to another year of service, connection, and community.  Home – The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson
