The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson is offering an interesting and relatively unique opportunity to join the firm as Of Counsel in an independent contractor capacity. You will essentially be running your own practice, but under you will be able to use and extend our firm’s reputation, model, and structure. You will have the opportunity to bring in your own clients and work on your own cases. The firm will help assist you in introductions and guidance in developing and acquiring clients in addition to building your own network. For cases the Of Counsel brings to the firm, the Of Counsel will receive 75% of fees collected. For cases the Of Counsel refers to the firm or the firm refers to Of Counsel, the Of Counsel will receive 25% of all fees collected.
The Of Counsel may have access to the Firm’s resources, structure and experience. The Firm will assist the Of Counsel in planning and developing for the future, including beginning an independent firm, staying as Of Counsel, and in very limited circumstances transitioning into full employment or shareholders status with the Firm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Associates who want to start their own firms but want a structured or softer landing and a model to replicate. For successful Of Counsel, there may be opportunity to start your own firm with an established referral source, opportunity to stay as Of Counsel, and even opportunity to join the firm in a closer capacity, including but not limited to employment with the firm.
