LAW FIRM NEWS UPDATE:
ATTORNEY DOUGLAS G. JACKSON ATTENDED PROTECTING YOUR CLIENT: WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FEAR YOUR CLIENT IS BEING EXPLOITED CONTINUED LEGAL EDUCATION CLE (SEMINAR)

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Founder and Managing Attorney Douglas G. Jackson attended a continued legal education seminar presented by Prosecutor Renee Bauer on how to keep your client safe, if your client is being exploited by those who are pretending to offer financial help. Attorney Bauer led an extremely informative session. With this new knowledge, Attorney Jackson and this law firm will be better able to protect its clients from being exploited. Unfortunately, scams happen all of the time, and those most vulnerable are often the most exploited targets.
In the State of Florida, there are laws to attempt to help those persons who are being exploited. For example, Florida Statute Section 825.103, makes it a crime to exploit the elderly. This allows the criminal process to take place, which may give such powers as warrants for search and seizure of records. Meanwhile, other remedies, such as injunctions to freeze assets that are being exploited may be available.
This knowledge is just another tool for the attorneys at the Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson to use to help protect their clients.
