Road safety questioned in fatal Florida car accident

On Behalf of | Sep 24, 2020 | Uncategorized |

Drivers are often required to navigate a variety of different road hazards. While bad weather and construction cannot be prevented, it is sometimes necessary to take action to make repairs when there are known safety concerns in a particular area of an interstate. Unfortunately, several people from Florida say that the area in which a fatal car accident occurred in Florida has known safety issues.

The incident happened during the evening hours of a day in September. According to reports, the driver of a tractor-trailer was rounding a curve on the interstate when he lost control, striking a concrete barrier and a sedan. Both the truck and the sedan crashed into a guardrail.

While the 65-year-old truck driver was not injured in the accident, the 21-year-old driver of the sedan and her 23-year-old passenger died as a result of the injuries they suffered. Reports indicate that it is not known what caused the driver of the truck to lose control. However, several people familiar with the area have indicated that there are a variety of risks in the area, including a lane shift near the area of an on-ramp; some people also report that the area is slippery when it gets wet.

Unfortunately, families are now left mourning the unexpected loss of their loved one. If there were known issues with the road or if negligence on the part of the truck driver — or his employer — contributed to the fatal car accident, surviving family members may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit. An experienced personal injury attorney can help these victims examine the details of their case and determine what course of action may be most appropriate for their individual circumstances.
