Application for Fall 2024 Paralegal Internship Program is Open!

The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson seeks enthusiastic undergraduate students from USF St. Petersburg, SPC, Hillsborough Community College, and USF for a paralegal internship position. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting, regardless of their major. Interns will benefit from developing problem-solving skills, enhancing analytical abilities, practicing strategic thinking, and gaining insights into how laws impact various industries. This internship will last approximately three months, coinciding with the Fall 2024 school semester. Interns will work approximately 10 hours per week, not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: August 26, 2024 – November 22, 2024
  • Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $15 per hour
  • Location: Flexible hours with remote work options available


  • Engage in various projects based on the law firm’s needs, primarily focusing on:
    • Assisting in drafting motions and responses for civil litigation cases
    • Preparing demand letters
    • Assisting in the preparation of estate planning documents
    • Drafting briefs for Veterans Disability and Social Security Disability cases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student at USF St. Petersburg, SPC, Hillsborough Community College, or USF (although recent graduates are also welcome to apply)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Interest in law and legal processes
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently
  • No prior legal experience required
