Application for Fall 2024 Legal Internship Program is Open!

The Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson seeks a second- or third-year law student (rising 2L or 3L) for a legal internship position.  This position will last for approximately three months, coinciding with the Fall 2024 school semester.  It is expected that this internship will begin on or about Augst 26, 2024 and end on or before November 22, 2024, so as to not interfere with reading week and examinations.  Because this is during the school year, the intern will work approximately 10 hours per week, not to exceed 20 hours per week.

The legal intern will complete several video training courses, along with several working projects.  The projects will vary depending on the needs of the law firm, but will primarily consist of research and writing.

The research and writing is expected to vary greatly, but it is predicted that the legal intern will work on the following projects: drafting motions and responses to civil litigation cases; drafting demand letters; drafting estate planning documents; drafting research memoranda; drafting briefs on Veterans Disability and Social Security Disability cases.

Due to the amount of research and writing, a member of Law Review or Moot Court is preferred.  Additionally, the hours will be flexible, and the legal intern allowed to work remotely.

The pay for this position is $15 per hour.  Previous employees in similar positions have stated that this position gave a wide variety of experience that most law students do not obtain while still in law school.
